About Rick Jensen

I have a lived experience of mental health and have had many years experience caring for family members with mental illness. I hold Post Graduate qualifications in Community Mental Health, Graduate Diploma in Counselling, Bachelor of Teaching, Diploma in Business and Project Management, Diploma of Applied Science (Human and Community Services), Cert IV in Training and Assessment and Cert IV in Government Investigations and a Masters in Human Resource Management. I have over 20 years experience in the mental health sector (Public and Private Mental Health, Non-Government sectors and currently working in Mental Health Policy and Planning. I have worked as a consumer surveyor for 12 years with the Australian Council on Healthcare Services (ACHS). I have experience in working with staff around MHFA from forensic mental health, corrections and policing backgrounds as well as pharmacists. I am a Principal Master Instructor with MHFA and am also a magician. I like to use magic in my training as we explore and learn. I'd like to encourage all interested persons who would like to gain knowledge, refresh their skills or share experiences to join me in a Mental Health First Aid training course.
